Cabbage Tree Island Trip

Location: Nelson Bay, NSW

This trip is all about making the most of a shorter offshore adventure, with time to explore Cabbage Tree Island, get in the water and enjoy some of our favourite local dive and snorkel spots.

Schedule

• Depart from Nelson Bay

• Around 20 minutes of travel time to the island

• Approximately 3 hours total 

• Dive locations may vary depending on ocean conditions, visibility and marine life on the day

What You’ll Experience

• Explore Cabbage Tree Island — one of Nelson Bay’s most beautiful offshore locations, surrounded by clear water and incredible marine life

• Freediving & Snorkelling — spend time in the water at our favourite spots around the island

• Marine Life Encounters — keep an eye out for blue gropers, rays, turtles, dolphins and other local marine life

• Beautiful Afternoon Light — depending on the trip time, the island can take on an incredible golden glow, making it one of our favourite trips for photos and a relaxed ocean session

• Local Knowledge — we’ll choose the best locations on the day based on conditions, visibility and where the marine life is

Bring your own underwater camera or GoPro if you’d like to capture the day.

Cabbage Tree is perfect if you want a shorter, more relaxed ocean adventure without committing to a full-day trip — plenty of time in the water, beautiful scenery and a taste of what makes diving around Nelson Bay so special.

• BYO food and drinks
• If you haven’t completed an official freediving course, you can still join in on the adventure — you just won’t wear a weight belt while diving. You’ll still get to snorkel, explore the island and experience the marine life with the rest of the group!
• We recommend bringing sea-sickness tablets just in case!
